Roger Broeker
About the Candidate
Roger Broeker has been a Grand Island resident for 14 years and has one son who currently attends GIHS. He has been an educator for over 20 years, teaching multiple grade levels and content areas during that time. Over his career, Mr. Broeker has been a school administrator for Erie 1 BOCES, Grand Island CSD, and is currently in his second year as principal of Niagara Academy, part of Orleans-Niagara BOCES. Everyday at Niagara Academy he works with students who need more support than a traditional school district can provide, and understands how important school support can be for student success. He has maintained great working relationships with school districts across Erie, Niagara, and Orleans counties, allowing him to stay current with education trends and resources available to schools.
Mr. Broeker has also been active in the community over the years, coaching soccer and football on Grand Island, along with helping various organizations on and off the island.Â
Mr. Broeker is a firm supporter of preparing students for careers post graduation by increasing internship and work based learning opportunities while still in school. He also understands that positive relationships are the key to moving forward and working together for the benefit of the entire community. Mr. Broeker has a solid understanding of how school districts function at all grade levels, both as a teacher and administrator. His goal has always been to support the students and teachers of the district by bringing in new ideas and programs, while always being mindful of budget constraints.
Mr. Broeker hopes to bring his years of educational experience and a new perspective to the Grand Island School Board this year.
He would love your support on election day 2024.
